REAL OEM "SS" Rims On My 2002 Camaro
Hey All,
I just came back today from picking up (4) REAL OEM "SS" Camaro rims with Goodyear Eagle Tires for $300!! I had them IMMEDIATELY installed, I mean I drove from the guys house to the shop to have them put on lol
They look AMAZING! I am so happy about how it turned out, I was going to order C5 Chrome Rims from O.E. Wheel for $1000+ with tires and I foiund these and they look amazing!
The "polished" look makes the paint stand out SO much and they look amazing with the width in the rear.
I went over to a local parking garage to clean it and get some pics becuase it was raining lol!
HERE is a link to my "Album" sorry I don't know how to upload pics to the thread from my Deskstop.

Re: REAL OEM "SS" Rims On My 2002 Camaro
Sweeeet, can't beat that price! In the other topic I mentioned the salad shooters I got for $100 with tires (it may have been $150, I'm not sure and I never said online so I guess we'll never know). I looked back at the time I got them and got some of the pics to show you.
The wheels were covered in brake dust and other crud. The owner of them who brought them in his truck to my apartment said that he took the wheels off the car back in the early 2000s and they just sat in his garage for years with the tires on them. The tires were Goodyear Eagle GA tires in 235/55, I think those are the OEM tires for Camaros and Z28s without the QLC tire option. They weren't dry rotted, so they weren't the original set from his '94 Camaro when it was new. They were the 2nd set of tires put on the wheels. I sold the tires for $50 to a foxbody Mustang owner who told me he was having trouble finding that size of tire.
The reason I needed new salad shooters is the old ones were in bad shape. We cleaned them with metal polish a few times in the late '90s because we were dumb and didn't know they were painted and clearcoated, so the clearcoat wasn't very good. My sister had also ran up on a curb on the tollway because a delivery van nearly sideswiped her so one of the wheels had somewhat heavy curb rash, which prompted me to replace them. I also discovered the tires were dry rotted. I ended up selling them on craigslist for $140 if you can believe that, and that's without tires! I didn't even clean them! Just removed the wheel weights.
Here are pictures of the new salad shooters after I spent 5.5 hours cleaning them. I went ahead and removed the wheel weights and waxed the wheels the next day which was an hour and a half of that, but 4 hours were spent getting a ton of brake dust and assorted grime off them from being in storage nearly 10 years.
The paint on them is 9.9/10! There's very minor curb rash on the wheels, mostly due to wheel weights.
I decided to get the best tires possible for the car. Here they are with the new Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position tires mounted on them. I chose those tires because they reviewed the best of any other tire for the 245/50 R16 size and they have a 40,000 mile warranty and last for up to 60,000 miles. Plus they are all season tires and gorgeous. These are the same tires as what the Ferrari Enzo and Ferrari 458 Italia came standard with (just not the same size). The tires were about $800.
I requested they use the tape on wheel weights so the rims don't get damaged further.
After getting to clean the car and the tire install grease off.
Good to see someone other than me got the deal of a lifetime!
