Painting '93-'97 'Headlight/Foglight' Pockets Body Color on Nose???
Help! I'm having my car fixed at a local body shop and they apparently painted the entire nose body color (dark green) instead of redoing the flat black that would normally be inside the headlight/foglight pockets.
I'm going in today sometime to look at it in person, but I'm not expecting to be happy with it. I'll try to get some pics. I thought I'd give it a try by searching for some dark-colored cars that have been repainted without the flat black pockets. But I can't find any!
On one hand, the Black cars look fine, meaning the entire nose is black so the pockets don't stand out like they do on a lighter car like white or silver.
On the other hand, this car is an original '97 SS and I don't want to reduce the resale potential any more than the wreck probably already has, so if this is a major no-no to collectors I'll throw a fit and have them do it right.
However, this car is a 'keeper' in my house, meaning that all the other cars/trucks that come and go are just transportation, but this car has been part of the family long enough that the kids aren't letting me sell it any time soon. Point is that as long as *I* like it (and I guess I should let the kids look at it too, hopefully one day they'll want it...) I don't care so much about it being all-original.
Does anybody out there have any pics of a '93-'97 Camaro that's had the entire nose painted body color without the flat black accents? If so I'd love to see them.

Totally agree, black and white being those colors. Mine is the dark yellow green code 9806, I couldn't imagine it w/o the black, however I did have the black painted in gloss this time. I got tired of not being able to make the black look like anything but dookie!
