Need opinion on a spoiler....

dont get me wrong i think the SS is sweet but i feel its too common. I don't want to have an SS clone neither. I'll be putting on the cowl hood in the future but would like a diff spoiler than the norm. A time a go when i was still driving my 95 Camaro i could have sworn i saw a SS style spoiler but it didnt have the 2 brackets in the center for support. Anyone ever seen this?

On a stock Camaro it would probably look a bit tall, but if your car is modified with bigger aftermarket wheels, ground effects, etc. go for it.
As usual, the more radical a piece is, you need an equally radical overall package so the car looks balanced. If you see the blue 427 Camaro built by Chevy that has that spoiler it is the meanest looking 4th. gen. but it also has wide fenders, different hood and wheels.

1998 saw an updated camaro, including the SS spoiler (which got a bit of a bigger lip, lost some of the straight-edge buttom, and donned the two center supports/LED lighting).
The original spoiler discussed at the beginning of the thread has me wondering what it would look like in person. Photos I've seen have me leaning towards "too much"... but I wonder.
Additionally, there's a "z29R" spoiler, by Mecham Performance, out there. It is similar to the 98-02 SS spoiler, but without the center supports.
Then there's the "Freedome Design" spoiler, which is a single unit.
Yet another spoiler design, similar to above, but 3 parts instead of 1 (can be see on the "Dick Harrell" Camaros as well).

the 3" ish spoiler 3 parts last picture is a dead ringer (ok little more modern) of the spoiler on 2nd gen camaro's. Looks great is person.
My next pick is the 96-97, simple. Slp clearence @ $129.95
The problem with wings (my .02$) is fitment. If you have to pay the bodyshop 4 hours labor to make it fit the cheap wing isn't cheap anymore.

I am partial to the spoiler as it seperates the car from every other Fbod on the road. That being said if you are into function rather than form then this is the spoiler to own. The amount of down force applied to the rear tires is phenominal at speeds 140mph+. When I had the SS spoiler and full blown race suspension the car would get unsettled at around 140mph. Once I threw the LG spoiler speeds in excess of 180mph were accomplished w/out a hint of a squirrely rear. Best spoiler hands down in terms of down force unless you get the 3 piece unit which has a more radical rate of angle.
