Just some quick ?'s on painting valve covers....

I am going to paint my valve covers, and just wanted to know if all I had to do is just un bolt them and thats it? Do I need to disconnect or remove anything thing in order to take them off/put on? Is anything going to spew out when they come off?

Thanks for your help...btw my car is a 94Z

4 bolts on each side, running down the middle of the top of the valve cover. Putting them back on was a pain for me -I bet I tried for an hour to get both back on, but the (new) gaskets kept slipping off when I went to put the covers back on. I finally got it, but I think putting them back on with gasketing on properly will be the most difficult part. (And it wasn't hard, just agravating to have them drop out of the valve cover as I was seating the cover).

I didn't need to, but that is probably where the trouble lay with getting them covers back in without dropping the gasket out.

One of those things where I did things the difficult way. Par for the course for me.
