There should be something available to purchase that can cover your T-tops when they are off. I dont know about you guys but when the t-tops are off, I hate the look of the dull paint, nuts bolts and seals showing. They should make a black plastic or fiberglass piece that snaps or slides into place to finish it off. There has to be some way to make it look more presentable.

if we could get more people or maybe just you and I if you are willing to brainstorm a bunch of ideas for materials, mounting, etc...I could see this working out...

Yeah i could see this working. How about instead of make a "cover" you make it permanent. Im thinking basically cover it with fiberglass so that you get that clean look. And then just paint it. I painted mine, but it still looks a little dull.

this seems like a job for vinyl molding. make it soo it snaps in place somehow and its flexible, might be able to do it as one hole piece.

IF you wanted it pieced, then i'd do fiberglass in 3 pieces with a similar latching method that the convertible covers use.

That is an excellent idea, i used to think about that when i had my ttops.

My only issue with this is that its one more thing to have to worry about when taking the tops off and on. I never use my covers for my vert

i'm having trouble grasping this too.. why would you want to cover the area when the ttops are off?? the whole point of taking them off is to to get air into the car and whatnot.. putting plastic over that is almost the same as just leaving the tops on

maybe i'm confused

yes, i think you are confused I think what he's talking about is like trim to go over the exposed weather stripping to make it a nice smooth look. Not covering teh whole opening up

I say two pieces. Imagine the t-tops being on the car but with the openings cut out. the only thing it covers is the exposed weatherstriping. imagine the shape as a "U"

My idea is to somehow use the same holes that the ttops latch into. maybe some kind of bolt that you push in with your thumb... but also pops out wtih the push of the thumb... like a PEN... got me?

i think that should all come painted black too... unless otherwise requested.

I wish I could SHOW you guys... because i really think it would work and look VERY good... maybe i'll try to draw a picture if i get some time.

wow props for whoever had the initial idea... i can visualize it.

I think it would be a great idea. And I don't even have T-Tops.
