Ghost stripes?

Hey guys. I have 96' Z thats patriot red, 18" z06 rims. Im getting a 4inch cowl hood. And well sence stripes are pretty common on a camaro here in my town and ghost flames are starting to be seen alot more. What about ghost stripes? Ive never seen this on a car. What are your guys thoughts on this?

By definition, I don't think it'll work. You get "ghost" stripes by the way they are painted on... you can barely see them from certain angles but can see them better from other angles. With vinyl, you can't get this effect.

I suppose you could do stripes that closely match the color of the car so they aren't all that noticeable?

Well anyway, what exactly do you mean by ghost stripes? Maybe I'm missing what you are trying to do?

I have been wanting to do this also. You can have the stripes painted on just as you have flames painted on. I am sure it would wok and could look pretty darn good IMO.

I have ghost stipes painted on my car. They're gray on a black car. They're cool in their own respect, but it is really hard to see them. (They were on the car when I got it)

Well, I'd love to send some pics. However, I'm on the road right now for business, so I can't get them till at least Friday. Sorry guys. They look good, but you really can't see them till you're up close on the car. Could just be the way they are done though. Anyways, I'll get those pics on Fri or Sat.

Thanks birdie.

Yeah i want to paint them on. I was thinking maby make it a tad more noticable than a ghost though not much more darker but you know. In a couple days im going to talk with some painters to see how much this stuff would cost and how long it would take.

Ghost anything on a car usually needs to be painted. Vinyl just wont cut it.

There's a guy in the town that I live in that has them on a stock camaro hood. They're a greyish color. And they look pretty neat. Very different. But still neat.

Birdie, those stripes on your ride are frickin BAD!!! I'm really impressed with those. I probably never would have given that idea a second though...but man...those really do look nice!

I've been planning this for a long time...DAMN, thought I was being original for once, lol.

Never seen it done on a 4th Gen (until now, thanks Birdie). I got the idea from a Shelby Cobra that was blue with dark blue ghost stripes...very interesting color choice, but VERY nice finished look!

It'll be a while before I get around to doing this, as I'll be painting the car an ENTIRELY different color, so I want the motor out so the engine bay matches and all. Plus...it's just gonna be EXPENSIVE!!!
