Re: Fresh paint, tonneaus, lowered.
I pulled this from another forum, so a few people have probably seen it, but here is the build thread.
Total cost of body and paint: $2900
Total cost of lowering $850 - Eibach sportlines, KYB AGX's, mounts, links, PH bar.

DURING:
Rear spoiler was in good shape, just one low spot
Left rocker only needed a small piece of steel, the fender lip was almost completely replaced:
Left side fender lip and under fuel door completely replaced with new steel:
Right side inner fender well replaced with new steel:
Right side rocker. That hole in the back of it he made while I was there. Lightest of taps with the body hammer, went right through. 2/3's of that rocker was replaced with new steel
New Steel in right side fender:
Plastic repair on torn right front fender skirt:

AFTER
So after some discussion with some paint experts, I went with the new Lexus "Starlight Mica Black" (0217) Essentially a black pearl metallic to replace the original GM 8555 black:
I'm waiting for it to get sunny so I can get some good pics of the flake in the paint, but this will give you an idea anyway:

Eibach Sportlines Install:
Eibach sportlines and QA1 panhard bar.
We got the rears done on Saturday, after much screwing around with the drivers side bolt on the panhard bar, we eventually just cut the head off and drove the bolt through. It was seized in the bushing and we had to use the impact hammer to drive it through.
The rest of the rears was VERY easy. Undo the bottom shock bolt, lower the rear axle, and the springs pulled right out. Install new ones, bolt everything back up and it's done. Except for the links of course, I am picking them up this afternoon.
Rear spring comparison:
Fronts were another story altogether.
After breaking both sway bar links, we undid the upper ball joint, undid the bottom shock bolts, undid the top strut mount bolts, they pulled right out.
Only to find that the top nut on the shock was so badly rusted that it is impossible to get them out of the strut mounts.
New KYB AGX's & mounts ordered and installed.
This will successfully eliminate the rest of my upgrade budget for a long while....wife is getting VERY grumpy...:icon_slapcry:
