I bought a new shifter boot for my 97 TA and the vinyl is real smooth unlike the one that's in there which is very textured.

I also bought a handbrake off ebay from an 02 camaro and that is real smooth too. The one I have is textured.

So is there any way to get new pieces that are textured that match my steering wheel?

The 93-96 graphite e-brake handles were smooth , when they switched to the new console in 97 they were textured .

93-96 graphite firebird steering wheel had such a light texture it was practically smooth

97-up firebird Medium grey and Ebony wheels were all textured

93-96 Graphite auto shift ***** for the firebird were smooth , 97-00 were lightly textured .

All the camaro shifter ***** ( auto and m6 and hurst ) were textured

The 93-99 and 00-02 Camaro steering wheels were textured .

Good info!

What about the shift boots? The one that came in my 97 TA is textured and shiney. Then I bought a couple other new ones and one was textured but not shiney and the other was smooth and a little shiney.

All the boots were textured , and dull when new anyways . The shine probably came from someone cleaning it one the many dash sprays that make everything all shiney .
