Bodykits from Japan

This is manly for Paul since he seems to know the most about these. I am headed to Japan for a year possibly more thanks to Uncle Sam and the US Marine. But what I am wondering is would it possibly be cheaper for me to purchase these kits and then ship them back myself cause I know last time I was there shipping is pretty ship cause of Military. Just a thought, let me know if you have any info on this.
Thanks
Ryan

Yes it would. Especially if:

a) You know japanese (or can find a translater)

b) You can ship them freight

c) You can get one of your buddies to take them back here on the ship. Those amphib ships can hold alot of extra shiat

Here is the downside:

These kits are expensive as hell even BEFORE shipping....

Yea i think your right I can get them shipped pretty reasonable if not taken back on the ship. I do know enough Japanese to get me in trouble or to get by. But you still think they will be expensive with out the exporters charge?

You may be able to make out pretty good depending on the Yen rate. I think it's around 116 right now--which isn't that great. Of course if you're over there a year, you'll have plenty of time to take advantage of fluctuating rates. Good luck!

Thumbs up

THose are some Crazy looking Body kits! We all talk about installing these WW Gfx kits that look stuck on while Mr. Miagi overe here is installing a nice new front bumper and moulded fender flares etc. Those kits look professional. A little ont eh wild side but professional at that. A frined of mine who wasn'te ven into camaros but owned one had a black 96 with some kind of ferrari kit that simply was appliead over the factory bumper and doors and it looked like slits going down the sides and on the rear bumper.... It got brittle and cracked after a while....

1 Yen roughly equals 1 Penny. If something is 10,000 Yen, it is about $100. If the Yen rate is 116 then 10,000 Yen would be $86.21.
