berger panels - cool online but in real life aparently ugly

i baught a new panel, had it painted satin black, and put it on. i thought it'd look good, people online thought it'd look good, etc etc.

well aparently i'm the only one that thinks it looks decent, everyone else thinks it came out of a junkyard. damnit!

opinions?

i think i'm going to take it off tomorrow and put the stock red one back on considering no one i've met so far likes it.

Most peopel told me swapping my tail lights from 97+ to 93-96 woudl look "bad" I think you were one of the people

But ehh I like it and don't give a rats *** what anyone says

maybe get more of a theme going with it... maybe some black ZR1s. Black SS hood insert? Mius the tint you don't really have much black on your car.

Re: berger panels - cool online but in real life aparently ugly

Don't change your car because someone else doesn't like it. Almost nobody I know likes my black 077 wheels. They all say I should have went with chrome. But about twice a month I get total strangers walk up to me and compliment me on the wheels and how it sets the whole car off. How it's so unique compared to the other cars on the road. That's all fine and dandy but I couldn't car less if nobody liked them, just as long as I like them.

I was once at Home Depot and this homeless looking old guy comes walking up to me, I thought he wanted spare change or my blood but he stopped to talk about my wheels. I was relieved but kinda creeped out at the same time.

You definitely get mixed opinions on black wheels...

example, painted my 3rd gen wheels gloss black. half the people though it was the coolest thing ever, other though I lost my hubcaps

People give me **** for my Zr1s, and say I should ditch them and go with chrome ones but I like my suttle stock but not too stock look of my car

My friend had his painted gloss black. It looks a lot better than the flat black. Maybe try that.

Well, the average Joe Blow doesn't know Camaro's like we all do here and understand what the Berger panel is about anyways... But I bet if you did like you said and used an insert or something like THIS it would "ground" the panel and make it more apparent that how it's supposed to be.

i had the same panel as yours before, the berger satin black rear panel..at first it look great then after awhile i didnt like it, and yes it looks like someone just spay painted the panel kinda looks cheesy to me, so then i sold it and i put my stock red panel back on. later on iam going with a onyx black clear coat rear panel which will look better and the camaro letters all filled in for a cleaner look, ive seen a few red ss camaros with them on and they look much better than the satin black panel
