Unhappy Alternative to pricy SS hoods

Hey everyone, right now i have a stock z28 hood on my car but i want something that looks a little better. i have searched and looked at the SS hoods but after i was to pay shipping for a $300 plus hood, i would have close to $500 in one. does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives to upgrade the stock hoods to look better?

Thanks!

Re: Alternative to pricy SS hoods

Shipping on just about ANY Hood is probably going to run $150 (It has to go freight due to size).....

I doubt you're going to find many worthwhile hoods (ie good fitment/quality) for much less.

Re: Alternative to pricy SS hoods

I like cowl hoods better than SS hoods on non SS cars ... but yes its a big package.

I got lucky an won a $500 custom glass hood for my GN at an event raffle total cost $40

imo one of the best

Keep looking on Craigslist in your area. Give it some time and something will pop up.

Re: Alternative to pricy SS hoods

My best advice would be Craigslist as well….expect to drive, but it would be worth it rather than paying for a new one + shipping. I found my SS hood a few hours away so I just drove there without a hood on my car bolted it up and came back haha. I only paid 300 plus got all the parts to make it functional thrown in on the deal.
