Degreeing LT1 Stock Cam

I bought a 97 Camaro and it is the poorest running LT1 I have ever owned. I decided to check the Intake Centerline and found it to be at 117.5. Should it be there or more like 112?

Re: Degreeing LT1 Stock Cam

I too have a 97 LT1. 4th cam. All cams have a +4 deg grind. That makes them a slug. I had to go with more intake/ exh duration. (Cam Motion ie... 231/240 @114*lsa) Welcome to the LT1 gen 2 world. Not very friendly. Thanks gm. Ya, worked there too. I also liked the Crane cam. (218/ 218*). I would go back to that also. B.
