connecting rod question?

The flanges of the connecting rods where all put one way facing the front of the engine and on alldata.com it says left bank face front right face rear but does it really matter? Ive put the engine back together and i was going to put it back in the car but when i was going over everything i missed that it said that and im worried if that will cause a major problem?

Re: connecting rod question?

It does matter. The rods have an offset in the beam, as well as a larger chamfer on the big end bore that should face the sidewall of the crank. Here's a diagram
