Oilpan ?

Oilpan ?
Hello everyone I have a lowered 97 SS which I will soon be installing my 383 along with BMR k-member and Pacesetter lt's and the question I have is concerning oilpan to ground clearance with a lowered car.
I have a choice of oilpans I can use, either the standard Canton 5qt or a Milodon 7qt kickout style pan. I'd prefer to use the Milodon for the extra capacity and the horror stories I've heard about Canton pans leaking, but I'm concerned about ground clearance.
I've got a set of regular sbc longtubes hanging on the engine while it's on the stand and it looks like the sump of the Milodon pan is about 1" lower than the bottom of the headers.
Should I be concerned, because if it's going to be a problem I'd rather change the pan with the engine on the stand.
Any feedback will greatly be appreciated.

Re: Oilpan ?
not really an advanced tech sorta question - but I am gonna say:
If its a car you plan to drive normally on the street - you will have issues if the pan is 1" lower then the lowest part of your longtubes. On a lowered F-body with longtubes - your bound to scrape the exhaust slightly once in awhile. With an oil pan being one inch lower then the lowest part of my exhaust - I would be nervous in a "Driver" setup.
Track only is a completly different story.
