vortec pcm and harness, with tpi
I have an 86 iroc with a 305 thats seen its better days.... I planned on using a vortec 350 out of a 1997 chevy 1500,rebuilding it and running the tpi injection on it with the SDPC lower intake...
What I was woundering because from what i've read the newer style ecm's work a bit better, could I use the harness and ecm and everything from the vortec? rather than repin the harness...and what all it would take to do it?
I looked at the plugs on the throttle body for the TPS and IAC from my lt1 and i think it has the same plugs as the vortec? If so I could just use the tb from my lt1 along with the MAF from the vortec?
Will it even work? and any problems i'de run into doing this?

Since you're using the vortec engine, use the vortec pcm, you will need to use the vortec distributor, vortec icm and coil, and add injectors connectors to the harness
Make sure you use the timing cover for the vortec, you need a crank sensor, make sure the crank sensor reluctor is installed on the crank before the timing cover is installed, and make sure you use the vortec crank damper

Re: vortec pcm and harness, with tpi
I'm using all the stuff off the vortec...didnt think about the distributor though... but I kinda halfto use it now that i think about it...
So do you think using the lt1 throttle body on the tpi intake would work?
What would i need injector connectors for?
