Value of 1986 Z28

hello ,i was told to check under my glove box cover for numbers that would indicate if my Z28 was one of the more valuble cars from that year.i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.my car has a 305 4brl carb with 130,000 miles, runs great and paint is just okay. my girl says i need to sell it.(WONDERFUL)

What is the 8th digit in your vin #? If it is a "G" then you have the L69 engine which has the same HP rating as the TPI motor that year. 190hp. This motor was made from '83 to '86. Never sold well but it was pretty quick.

If it is an "H" then you have the 155hp LG4 V-8. Sell that if you got it.

So why is she asking you to sell? Is it in totally awesome shape and she's afraid some chicks are going to dig it and hop in with you?

What's the car like?

In 86 You could only get the H.O. L69 in the IROC. And they only made something like 55 of them that year.

Tell her it's only worth a hundred bux, so not worth selling. Works for my wife. Realistally, 1500 bux or so.

ask her how she would feel if you told her to sell something you felt was a waste but valuble to her? ya gotta be you and this means having things you enjoy for yourself.

I've been off the site a couple months. I hate I never saw your post about being the original owner. I gotta tell you I'd keep it and put a fair paint job on it and just drive it. I'm sure it's fun and you won't need A/C with the tops off
