timing cover question

ok Ive got a 84 camaro berlinetta with the 305 it is the original engine BUT the timing cover has been changed to one of those crappy mr. gasket covers anyways, my problem is that when I put the timing light on it the mark is about straight up about the 12 o'clock position but the timing pointer is located at about the 2 o'clock position. Does anyone know where the timing pointer is located on the factory timing cover. (the car runs and drives fine its just bugging me)

Factory 305 location is 12 o'clock, IIRC. Been a while since I've dinked with a 305....

(I posted a pic on thirdgen.org, in your similar thread.)
