Sway bars once again

I was looking under my car becuase I was told I didn't have a rear sway bar being a V6. However the rear one is there and it looks wimpy, but the front looks twice the size (maybe its a 32mm). Does that make sense? I was looking to get front and rear 32mm and then a wonder bar for better handling. Is upgrading worth it since it looks like a 32mm already. Thanks.

THe back bars are smaller and you could go to a bigger one <but you don't want to go as big as the front you want to stay a little smaller or you will be to stiff. Just put in some Poly end links ,and bushings for the size you have and you WILL be happy. There will be a deffinate differance.

I just picked up 36mm/24mm off a GTA and ordered a BMR wonderbar. I'll tell you how I like it in about a week

I thought the wonder bar was aftermarket. Am I going to find one in a junkyard? Also, the biggest junkyard around here has about 15 F-bodies, but none are on rims so its impossible to get under them.

Wonder Bar is the GM part name, there are aftermarket wonder bars ,yes. Heck if you seen one and had access to some steel you could make it yourself. Kinda looks like this o_______o only welded together.

Thanks for the info! I cannot weld at all so I will just buy one. I'll let you guys know when I get the bushings and bar. I know a few 3rd gen owners that never even considered such an easy mod.

I was looking at the bushings and they only had 24mm, 1", 1 1/8", and 1 1/4" sizes. What do I need for my front and rear? Its a V6 1989 firebird.

You will need to measure them ,or if you can take it with you when you buy them. GM used differant sizes for diffeant applications. If your going to do the end links also you might just as well take it completely off so just take it with you ,if you are going to drive the same car just take the cornners a little slower until you remount it ,plus this is the time to clean and paint if you want.
