Swap question

I was wondering how hard it would be to swap a 350 in to a v6 car.....and if it would ever be worth my time...

Re: Swap question

Doubtful. There's tons of 3rd gen V8 cars all over the place. And you can usually pick them up for cheap.

Re: Swap question

Get a V8 car with a POS motor and then you can begin. Otherwise you would have to rewire the entire thing to make it work.

Re: Swap question

Lets not forget that swapping motor mounts on a 3rd gen is a royal PITA.

Re: Swap question

If you are going to carb the 350, then just do a motor swap since there will be very few wires to mess with.
If you want to go with stock EFI, get a nice bodied car with a high milage 305.

don't forget that the V6 Auto tranny won't work with a 350 (or 305).

Re: Swap question

Unless you have a dead v6 car, and the 350 already on hand just as extra parts that you want to put together than maybe, but otherwise save your time and money and buy the v8 car. I did a lot of research on this back in the day when i had an RS, in the end it just wasnt practical, ended up buying the Z28 of my dreams and never looked back.

Look in your RPO codes. MD8 means 700R4
