Summit TPI Cam and Lifter Kit - Any Good?
Just wondering what this kit would do for my 350 tpi (internally stock, has LT's and !AC and !smog pump.) Would it be worth the $130 for a SOTP fun factor and/or sound improvement?
The Link
268 int./278 ex, 112 seperation. (I think I got the needed #'s?)
Thanks!

Summit cams aren't bad cams, alot of them ar ehte tried and true grinds (204/214) , but there are alot of newer cams out there now that will do alot better. Try a comp cam xe grind or the new lunati voodoo series. The lobe profiles of those cams are great. I personally have a XE268H-10 in my monte which is my daily driver. And 89TransAmGTA is right 89 should be a roller motor and xe's and voodoo's are availible as rollers.

So I need to find a mechanical roller? What's a decent grind (I did use the search function, didn't find anything applical to a stock tpi) for a stock tpi where I won't have to reprogram everything?
Thanks a bunch!

I used the Summit TPI Cam in a 305 with SLP Runners. This was in an 86 non roller Block. With a Hypercrap Chip it ran very well, made a noticeable change in power and RPM range. Also changed the exhaust note. It was part of what I used to get a 305 to run 13.9 with a 2.77 rear end.

Do a search on the GM Hot Cam. Pretty healthy cam with near stock street manners. Not sure if you'll need some modifications for this though but lots of info available on this swap. About the best there is for a mild/stock engine from what I've read.

Tom the LT4 Cam is a very good cam, but will not match a TPI intake well. The Hot cam is designed to run up to around 6400RPM, the stock TPI runs out of breath at 4500rpm, some even say 4200rpm.
BTW, I grew up in Wheelersburg, glad to see someone holding down the F-bodies up there.
