Spuddering when trying to accelerate

This morning got in car fired up and I tried to rev it up to get egine warm as I tried to give more gas it reved a little then started to spudder. I was able to drive (1987 Iroc-Z 305 new balanced and blue printed jasper engine less than 20K miles) to work then I went to leave and the car started up like normal and it purrs like normal. I am thinking possible water in the gas or a fuel filter not sure. It seems that since it had warmed up there was no problem the car is like it never happened. I usually don't drive it much but I did drive it yestarday and it was fine this is why I am concerend. Any Ideas what the problem could be??? Thanks

Re: Spuddering when trying to accelerate

Could be water in the gas I guess, fuel pressure would be a good thing to check. Go to your local parts store and get a $40 or less fuel pressure guage...its a great thing to have.
