rs 90 swap 94 LT4 vette motor and tranny

i need some advice i am about to buy a 90 rs camaro with 160,000 miles for 1000 clean inside and out automatic 6 cylinder it has t- tops. i have a 94 vette LT4 motor with about 340 horse power and a 4l60 e trans that came out the vette is it worth the money to convert should i hold out and get the iroc-z i wanted to do the swap in. i mean rs is cool but i roc i think is better can the swap even be done and what will the iroc offer that the rs does not have besides the name. thanks for any help my dad will pull the six out and drop the eight but he does not want to do the wiring nor the smog set up so i will have to pay some one else so i will save some money but not a lot.

if your doing the swap go ahead and get the RS with good body and clean inside. if you aren't gonna od the swap then hold out and get an iroc. but if you are swapping out both the motor and trans there is no reason to get an iroc except for the name.

Fact - The LT4 didn't come out until 1996.

And I don't think the LT4s came with autos either.

So, it's probably not an LT4 if it is a 1994 Vette. Those only had one engine, the 300 hp LT1.

If you're putting in an LT1, I would do it in the Iroc. I think those look 100 times better than an RS.

smoke you

well the motor came out of a 96 vette that i had installed in my 94. before i took it into a wall at about 55 miles an hour it came with a stick but my car was an automatic so it stayed auto because i was not willing to do the conversion i think i'm gonna wait for the iroc because it just looks better with out the body kit that the rs has. my main goal is to smoke with out a doubt in his mind my friends 2000 ss camaro he just got a new motor under warrenty from the 2002 maro so i know it's gonna cost me but i'm ready for it as long as i don't send the 26,000 he did on his car so far i'm a 1000 for what i had to buy

has this swap been done by anybody on the forum with the lt4 motor what kind of 1/4 time should i expect. any need to know imformation would be very good to have.

mods-lt4 and 4l60e tranny
kandn
hypertech chip

Low-Mid 13's. The swap is almost identical to an LT1 swap AFAIK. A search will yeild gobs on information. Good luck and get a good camera, we're gonna need pics!

-Corey

NOTE: FWIW, I think the RS looks a hundred times better than an IROC. Plus, it definitely adds to the sleeper look....

The swap is identical to an LT1 swap since the only things different on an LT1 are heads, intake, cam, and rockers. Externally they are identical.
this is my 95 converted LT4,

And my 95 LT1 converted back to an LT1,

I was 99% sure that's how it was, just didn't want to get jumped all over if I was wrong. Good shot Zeph, and nice pics.
