Lightbulb Noisy Brake Hardware??

I've had my '87 IROC for about 4 years now & for as long as I've had it, I've always had this clanking sound every time I hit bumps in the road. Initially I thought maybe it was a loose exhaust hanger or something. Then I thought it was my E-brake cable banging against the driveshaft, seeing as though it has never worked because the cable was all stretched out.

Then about 6 months ago I had my brakes done at Midas (previously I've always done them myself with some help from friends & family). When I found out how expensive it'd be to replace the 3 sections that make up the E-brake cable, I opted to have the old ones removed & not replace them. One of the mechanics said my brake hardware may make a little noise, & if that happens, I could take the car back & he'd adjust them for me.

The car didn't make a sound for a couple months & then started up again. So finally after all these years, I find out it's my rear brakes all along. In addition to when hitting bumps in the road, they also make the same sound, albeit not as loud when I release the brake pedal.

Is anyone familiar with this? And if so, is it an easy fix? In addition, is this a sign of something failing or going bad?

I've never heard of brakes doing this on Camaros & I've never seen posts discussing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check for a loose dust shield inboard of the rear rotors. That may be your noise.
