Need Explanation for stall TC's

Alright, I prolly sound like a complete noob here, but its something I want to know...what exactly do stalls do..i know it lets your tranny slip, then it kicks in at the rated stall or something...but why? and does it do this all of the time, or only when you hammer on it....I heard stalls give you bad gas mileage, what kind of effects do stalls have when your just doing normal driving, does it stall everytime you stop and go? thanks in advance

Re: Need Explanation for stall TC's

okay i found out how it works, i wnat to know how it reacts in real life...if I were to buy say a 2800 or 3000 rpm stall, how would it perform on the street...lets say i pulled up to a stop light, and it turned green, what would the stall do, stall all the way up to 2800 then kick in, or would it be like driving like i drive now? And also when the tranny shifts gears, does it stall a whole bunch then too...also with my tranny stalling all the time, what does this do to my gas mileage, severely decrease it??

Re: Need Explanation for stall TC's

If you get in and drive like you had your grandma in the car you wouldn't notice it. but if you hammered on it at a light your right.. She'll buzz till around 2800rpm then tires go up in smoke car goes sideways.. but in all affect if you match your cam with your stall.. then your stall will be kicking in when your engine starts making power.. I have a 2400 stall.. Can't even really tell it's there.. but If I nail it.. I have to feather the throttle.. better launches... I believe..
