Re: knock sensor

Excuseme tgates, where did you exactly find the knock sensor. I still trying to find it.
I found the fan switch (passenger side next to cylinder 8) I know how it looks, I checked on Google images. We have the same engine.
Thank you!

Re: knock sensor

"tgates" has not signed onto this site in more than 3 years. Might want to try an email, left click on his screen name, and there's an email option in the dropdown.

For what it's worth, Chiltons shows three devices on the passenger side of the 91-92 5.0 and 5.7L TPI engines. The knock sensor is shown in the middle, between the fan temp switch to the rear, and the A/C fan switch toward the front. The knock sensor has a single dark blue wire.

In the later 5.7L engine (LT1) the knock sensor is screwed into the block drain hole near the motor mount. It looks like this:

Re: knock sensor

Hi Fred, I want to thank you for your help, I found the knock sensor this past Saturday while working in the camaro. Now I have to find the cable for the Cooling Fan Switch, the connector was missing and there is a white cable hanging around, just in case you now let me know and again thanks you.
