Red face Injector issue

I have a 92 Z28 with a stock 5.7 L TPI engine. 10 years ago we replaced the injectors and am now having issues with them flooding. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue? If not, please advise the LB size I need to purchase and where they are the least expensive. I'm not sure where or what size injectors we got back then. I THINK they were Excel 21LBs, and I know we either bought them from jegs or summit. PLEASE help.

Describe what you mean by them "flooding". Are they allowing fuel to pass through when they are not energized?

Yes, the fuel IS passing through but sometimes my car won't start. All I smell is gas, and it totally acts like its flooded. My husband is a mechanic, but is now disabled. He said that the injectors or injector is sticking open and is actually flooding. We had to change all the injectors when we first bought the car about 12 years ago. One went out but he changed them all. It was a lot of work I recall but since he did the labor it wasn't expensive. Bought the Excell injectors fro Summit Racing, I believe. The price for all 8 has tripled in cost and both of us on disability I don't want to change them if I don't have too. Any suggestions?

Re: Injector issue

The Accel injectors are not the way to go. I don't know the size but there are decent, low cost injectors available. I suspect they may be 22#/HR like the 93 LT1, but someone with an L98 has to confirm that.

Possible source, when you find the size:

Racetronix - Fuel Injectors - High Impedance

If you can pull the fuel rails up, turn the key to "run" (not "start") to pressure the injectors. If one is leaking, it will drip when pressurized.

Re: Injector issue

Sometimes the fuel pressure regulator will leak take the vac line off with it running and see if you see fuel
