Does it matter which way the temp sensor is wired?

Ok, quick question, for my temp sensor, there is a black wire and a yellow wire that connect to the sensor. Somebody removed the original weatherpack connector, and put in a generic one with two white wires. Does it matter in which order the wires are hooked up? Or are the wires reversible like a heated O2 sensor?

thanks

shouldn`t matter, the sender is just a "ressistor" and it will have the same either way

This is the one in the front of the car, right? That is the one that the ECM reads. The other temp sensor is on the head at the driver's side and that is 1 wire.

BTW, if it is reversed, your car will go backwards.

J/K Geezer is right, shouldn't matter.
