What is the timing on a 1984 Camaro Z28 LG4

6 degrees advance is what I used to run my 83 at. Just remember to unplug the four wire connector by the ditributor before you set the timing. That is the computer advance control. Without unhooking that, I've been told that whatever you set it to will be about 5 degrees retard.

Stock spec is 0* BTDC. As conrad said, you can bump it up about 6* from that spec (6* BTDC) pretty safely for better performance with no real ill effects.

If you were wondering where your timing tab is located (many people have trouble finding it) just look straight down behind your water pump.
