I am getting a grinding noise coming from the rear of the car. It started happening the same night 2 days ago that i accidently drove the off the curb from a parking lot onto the road. I drove off diagonaly and all i noticed was my tailpipes hit the curb so im not sure if its related or not. Anyways it happens when im braking. I thought the shoes were totally worn out and causing the grinding (they were totally worn out) but I just had the shoes replaced and the drums machined and its still making this noise although not nearly quite as badly as earliear. It might not be making the noise as bad now though becuase they car was totally warmed when it was making the noise the worst, and when i noticed it now i just got it back from the shop and only drove it home for about 10 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Scraping noise= Rear end cover hit the curb
Result= Lip got bent and fluid leaked out
And.. Rear end went bad
Happened to my buddy

If its not the rear, then pull the drums off and take a peek inside.

Jack and block the car up good and solid ,then start it and put it gear to see if you can locate the problem.

Take out the rear diff and see what you find.
