Post Forging Differences 5140 vs 4130 vs 4140

What are the differences between these forgings I can get a new crank but I have 3 to choose from what are their hp levels with each forging? Does anyone know? Can someone give me a link or an answer it would help alot.

Thanks,
Kevin

Can not give you the horsepower for the cranks but on your grades the difference is in nickel content. The higher the number the percent of nickel is higher so its stronger.

Last 2 numbers refer to carbon content. High carbon steel can be hardened without the addition of carbon or nitrogen. Low carbon steel, e.g. 1010, cannot.

I have a friend pushing 1000 + hp on a 4310 steel crank. He is fixing to jet up to 250 with his blower.......
