Fix Taillight w/ Covers?

Last night, i did like a 1080 spin into a gaurd rail, and now i got some body work and a broken taillight.....its actually minimal damage for hitting a gaurd rail but anyways....the taillight is smashed to the turn signal part of the tailight...i was wondering, could i just buy some black taillight covers? would this fix it, or should i just go buy a new taillight?

if your lens are cracked itll still be messed up when you turn or hit yours brakes, theres a few sets on ebay as we speak you can get a set rea;;y cheap, then get your self a set of covers anyway they make the car look sweet, unless you can piece it together and use the colored tape. then covers would be ok

a salvage yard would be just as cheap as ebay wouldn't it? I'm gonna call tomorrow for some parts.

Probably cheaper, but it's easier to find good ones on ebay. That's where I got the extra set that I made my LED taillights with.

Or if you want new ones,

www.classicindustries.com
www.yearone.com

but I would not cover the broke ones up. Replace them.

why do they sell the housing and lens separately?

could you just replace the old faded lenses with a new one if your housing is good?
