80 series vs 40 series
do these 2 series from flowmaster sound about that same? i was gonna just get the 80 series because it comes in crossflow design, and 40 series does not? but if they sound about the same I'm just gonna go with the 80 series...but i've been hearing that the 40 series has a lot deeper bark and a considerable more amount of noise....also how would i rig up a fake dual exhaust setup with 40 series...i don't want to go with 2 muffler right before the exhaust tips because then the whole muffler is exposed and looks like crap...how do you suggest to do this?

Re: 80 series vs 40 series
the 40 series does come in the delta flow design...and sounds really, REALLY good. i have one on my 90 rs 305 and they do have a really deep growl to em...and are pretty loud...even with the cat on. they run about 75 bucks from jegs. as for the dual exhaust....the best bet is to put the muffler back near where the cat sits if you have it off, or just put it right before the rear axel and get either the 2 outlet model, or put a Y pipe after the muffler and run custom pipes out form there. i think the 40's also come in a design that will fit in the stock location but has the outlets on each side, simialr to the stock setup on the 93 z28's, then u can just run em out that way.

Re: 80 series vs 40 series
The 40 series is a much cleaner/smoother, louder sound than the 80 series. More of a rasp than a dead cow gurgling.
The nice way to integrate a 4 Series is to remove the cat converter and have the muffler placed right in it's place under that heat shielded area, then run the plumbing accordingly...Alongside the driveshaft over the axle, then split it into duals if you want that extra weight Any worthwhile shop can do this for you with 3" pipe and a bender but if you wanted a better design, you could use more expensive mandrel bends which would be welded in place of the "crushed" bends a muffler shop bender would create. If you're making more than stock power, the mandrel bends are the way to go. Goodluck!
