4th gen (98+) front brakes on a 3rd gen

Re: 4th gen (98+) front brakes on a 3rd gen
Thread resurrection.
I'm leaning towards www.bigbrakeupgrade.com, in fact I had to stop myself from buying the C5 conversion the other night, lol. Now I'm faced with the decision of which kit to go with, I like the powdercoated F body option (650+110 for PC) since the calipers will say "Camaro" instead of Corvette. But then I'd have red calipers up front, and the metal colored LS1 F body rears. So I was thinking maybe I should go for the C5 kit without powdercoating for 750. Are the C5 brakes "better" than the f body ones? I heard the calipers are just made from a better material and they use bigger rotors. If this is true I'll likely just go with the C5 upgrade since it is better performance wise. Do you think anyone would talk **** for having "Corvette" on your calipers?

u can always take caliper paint to the rear calipers, the corvette calipers are pressure cast instead of gravity cast, unless i'm mistaken that just means the caliper is stronger, has less deflection under extreme conditions
the corvette brakes with the 13 inch rotor do stop alot better, and having the word corvette on the calipers u use will just impress people, in my opinion, i dont think you'll hear any garbage about it

within the past 3 months there was an article in GMHTP, CAR CRAFT, PHR or hot rod that did a C-5 how to but the pics werent any justice and the info was slim.

I paid about 120(give or take a few, I can't remember exactly) for all the brake stuff from a local yard.
The rest was about 30 dollars that my buddy wanted for some brackets for the calipers he had already made.
