well i took the little cone off the back of my 350 turbo becuase i had to replace a bracket around it and i figured since i had it apart i could just replace the speedo gears. its an 83 camaro with originally a 305 and 700r4 but i now have a rebuilt 350 and a 350 turbo tranny. i replaced the rear-end in it with a set of 3.73's and my speedo is now significantly off, i don't know the original rear end of the car but i thought probley 3.23's with the 700r4 tranny. after about the 5th dealership or parts house i found someone who atleast had seen the set up b4, he said the plastic gears can be classified as color for different rear-ends to make it easier. i was wondering if anyone know what color a 3.73 speedo gear is, i believe mine now is a tan or yellow color but i need the 3.73 color. i'm just sick of my speedo bein off by like 20 mph at 60mph reading like 80-85mph. anyone who can fill me in on this stuff more i would very much appretiate it, i'm only 17 and not so knowledgable about this kinda stuff yet, even though i am slowly learning more and more... any help welcomed, thanks.
