L99-LS3 what to do if you had a do over

I want a Camaro. Cyber Gray, 1SS, black stripes. That I know. What I'm still contemplating is auto or 6 speed.
Would have been nice if GM had just one engine for both transmissions but not so.
The auto has the limiting cam and H.P., put an aftermarket exhaust on and you get the 4 cylinder drone. Got to believe there is some power loss built in by it being a everyman transmission.
The manual offers the H.P. gain of the Corvette, and more agressive cam, but for daily driving in traffic, not as comfortable.
If you had a do over, would you stay the same or convert ?
Tell me why.
Thanks.

i love the manual. i wouldnt have changed anything when placing my order. especially if you plan to mod the motor then do the manual. if you are using this as a every day car, just get auto and throw a blower on it.

In July I encapsulated my thoughts on it here...
Some thoughts on the choosing the A6 over the M6

A lot of you may know that I was struggling with the decision to go with the automatic or manual in my 2010 Camaro. After a long decision, I eventually chose the A6 at the last minute. Since I have taken delivery, I have been asked quite a few times and if I like it and if I regret getting it. Now that I have nearly 1,000 miles on my 2010 Camaro, I think I can answer that question.

no regrets here, the auto is an awsome trans, with a stall and some tuning it is very fun to drive and shifts the gears very quick and firm

After going to the track I wish I had an auto, but then driving it on the street I love my manual. I just need more practice. I do wish I would have gotten polished rims and maybe inferno interior.

I bought the perfect car...black SS stick with inferno, sunroof and polished rims....2SS...I thought about it for 2 years...I knew if I bought yellow/orange/funky blue etc...I would wake up one day and go what have I done?? On the transmission choice? is there any other choice but 3 pedals and a shifter?? nah...LS3 with stick all the way as long as my left leg still works...more involving ...more snap...sexier...

I love my A6.
My car ran 12.9 @ 108 mph with an intake and tune, and 12.55 @ 111 mph with intake, full exhaust, tune.
The A6's are running just as fast as the LS3 M6s. The main reason is the A6 is easy to launch and will usually out 60' the M6.

If you get an A6 you need to make sure the dealership only put 92+ octane in it. The L99s have been having issuse with being stuck in low octane mode. These cars are quite sluggish.
You need to pull the number 5&15 fuse (with only high octane in the car) to get the car back to high octane mode. The difference in performance (from the low octane tune vs high octane tune) is night and day.

SGOS99Z28 welcome to CZ28...I thought it was #5 and #20 fuse, both are 15A fuses. That being said I love my A6 and the shigting for stock is better than I thought it sould be. There is always room for improvement and a TCM tune can do just that. An M6 needs a new clutch and shifter, the A6 is just a cheap re-tune.

You're right about the L99 being limited in RPMs, unless you replace the L99 lifters with LS3 or LS7 lifters but you need to pull the heads to do so. There are other cam options though, keep VVT and a get a cam that makes a broad torque curve while staying in safe RPM limits.

My M6 runs a 12.8 @ 110 consistently. And its completely stock! (stays between 12.82 and 12.87)

Have you driven an M6 done a pass with "launch control"? Thats as easy as it gets!
