Hence the Delta platform, Sigma, Zeta..etc. Cars still in production that were around before this change in designation are still referred to as being a body type, such as W-Body, Y-Body. The F-Body went OUT of production and chances are that it will not return with a body designation, but rather a platform designation. PERSONALLY, I would LOVE it to be designated as an F-Body again...It will always be known to me as an F-Body.

doesn't matter to me. A Camaro is still a Camaro (as long as its RWD, V8!) reguardless of the the platform name is. F-body...fine....something else fine.
Only enthusiasts know that it was built on the f-body platform anyhow. This is really nitpicking

Doesn't really matter. They could call it F-Zegma or whatever the heck chassis we think it is right now. It actually makes sense to me since that platform is supposed to spawn quite a few other cars I believe.
For a quick note, most people I know call the Cobalts by their "Delta" platform connotation instead of saying J-body.

I think it will live on. Certain designations, whether official or not, become so deeply rooted that they become almost as important as the car's name itself. For example, nowhere is the new Corvette officially called a "C6", yet pretty much every reference to the car calls it such.
The only thing working against it is that "f-body" was a convenient way to talk in general terms about the Camaro/Firebird twins. If only one model returns, then there's less need to use the collective term and people may simply just use the more specific "Camaro".
