Why does the concept have a channel in the roof?

Just wondering why the concept car has that channel on the roof?

im holding out hope it has something to do with a ttop/targa top option. I'm going to be highly dissapointed if its only a hardtop/convertible

Nah, it is just a styling element. Think how boring and dull the roof would be without some sort of character to it. It is very similar to the one on the C6.

the way the roof is designed, i don't think t-tops would work, from an engineering standpoint
