Well its not Retro…....

…..but very heavily influenced with the first gen….though I do see other generations in it too….

First reaction….I like it….good job!

I’ll comment over the next few weeks but still hold off for my final reaction when I see it in Dallas later this Spring.

Scott, like I said I’ll meet with you then to give you my detail by detail take of this American Icon!

...Other than that....looks like I'm missing the party in Detroit this weekend

Re: Well its not Retro…....

Sorry, I don't see the first generation influence. Second and third are recognizable, but not the first.

Your comment right there proves this car is not straight retro, everyone is seeing something else....this car will be a hit!

Look at the rear fender and the way it curves over the wheels...just like the 67-69's. That's where I see it...

Re: Well its not Retro…....

I'm figuring he was being quite sarcastic. If not? errrrr, don't know what to say.

I don't think it's retro either, it has styling cues from the 1stgens (quite a few) but the guys screaming it's a retro remake of the '69 are smoking crack...

Re: Well its not Retro…....

The rear half looks ok. The rest is going to have to grow on me. I really hoped it would be all 69 the way the Challenger is 70. I guess it just comes across as looking more like a luxury coupe instead of a pony/muscle car. Too long and fancy looking. I'll just buy a 69 instead.

Re: Well its not Retro…....

I like it, but the nose has too sharp of a point. Flatten that out a little bit for some more 1st gen influence and you've got a 100% winner!!!!

Re: Well its not Retro…....

I think the pointy nose is what really looks wrong, it gives it a long front overhang. Like you said, flatten it out and make it more blunt.

Re: Well its not Retro…....

Looking for 1st gen influence...
First thing I see 1st gen in is, the side windows and thick "B" pillars...identical appearance, tho not bad.
Second, the blocked, pointed grille, and basic grille opening shape.
Third, gills behind the door, and the swoop under the door/gill area, like the subtle fold line sometimes chromed on 1st gens.
Rear stance, tail lights, crisp rear fender lines and tail pipe exit.
The ENTIRE interior, minus a dual-gate shifter.
Miss anything?

I agree 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the concept looks great, but something about that pointy nose doesn't look right.

The pointy nose looks a little too 1990's-retro

Re: Well its not Retro…....

I prefer the slightly pointed nose, otherwise the side profile view of the car and certain other angles are likely to make the front end look fat. It also makes it look a little more modern and less retro.

It doesn't have that much of a point to it anyway IMO, less of an arrowhead than the LT1 cars...

Right. The LT1 cars have quite a big point. This looks not that much different.
I really like it. I say wait to see the video or in person before you make any real calls. The video sealed the deal for me, although I will be at NAIAS in a week or two to check it out as well.
