Transformers Watch gathering

My thoughts are, I’m in Columbus Ohio and people from this message board if they are close could all gather and watch this film on the 4th. Same for people in other location? What do you guys think?

Not a bad way to gather up the f-body community, but I'm too far from you. You might have some luck if you tried this in the regional forum as well.

I'm planning on going on the 4th to see it (if there's a midnight showing I would like to go to that, but I doubt there will be). But nobody ever lives near me. LOL

I haven't heard this yet, is there a reason why they are pushing it earlier? It is good news nonetheless, I'm sure the theatres will be packed on the 4th being a holiday and all.

That works for me. If it's not sold out I'll be there!

Decision by Mike Bay himself. He went online to several forums and encouraged fans to make noise about releasing it on the 2nd or 3rd, and said "giant ****ing robots are coming....early".

He was trying to pressure the studio into releasing it one or two days earlier, so there wouldnt be so many people out watching fireworks and doing family things when the movie premiered, so it can enjoy an even stronger opening week (and it looks to dominate....every time a new transformers trailer or clip is released, websites crash. Yahoo died with the first trailer a few months ago, they learned their lesson for the second trailer's release and upped their bandwidth....but the MTV site crashed when they had their summer movie awards 3 days ago and featured 4 new clips from the movie)

It worked. I'm seeing it 8pm on the 2nd. I've waited since I was 5 years old for this.

I think it may have something to do with Harry Potter opening earlier now, but I agree that it doesn't really matter why. I'm just glad I can see it sooner.

Very smart decision. I could see traditional July 4th festivities really putting a damper on opening day box office sales.

Exactly, I would be more inclined to see it on the 2nd or 3rd, then I would on the 4th.

I was hoping for a midnight showing on the 3rd. Everybody has work off on the 4th to sleep in and see it again.

When is Harry Potter opening now?

Now if they'd just release the final book earlier too.
