A special prayer for the Harden Family......

Doug, I actually felt my heart drop after seeing the title of the thread logging on today.
Having just lost my Dad a few weeks ago (plus my mom is also a diabetic), I know at least a little on how much something like this must hurt. I think losing a parent at an older age hits you harder than losing them when you're much younger. They become more ingrained to your life as you get older. That level of adult-child dissappears and although they are still your parents, it's replaced with a relationship that's more friend, confidant, & advisor on everything.
It's tough.
My condolences, Doug.

Guys,
Thanks so much for the words of support...it made it easier to know I have such a wealth of friends.
While a 6 year battle with Diabetes foretold an eventual end to the struggle, it still was hard to let her go.
Thanks again,
Doug

My brother, being a diabetic and nearly dieing some 5 years ago of it, I certainly feel your pain, Doug.
Mr. Harden, my sincerest go out to you and yours in this time. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I know this sounds stupid but when I was in high school my mom took me to the doctor. While in the waiting room she fainted in her chair and fell to the floor. Her chest wasnt moving. I yelled for them to get help. I held her on the floor and straightened her leg. She started breathing again. I dont think they knew what was wrong but for those few moments holding her on the floor I was terrified. I cant imagine what your going through. Im sorry Doug.
