I'm not worried as much of the first year car as I am of the first year dealer gouging.

Yeah, same here. Driving the first year of a new car (or redesign for an existing nameplate) doesn't worry me in the least.

I'm more worried about dealer's pricing it out of my price range, thus forcing me to wait longer to get one. EVERYONE that knows me knows I can't wait for this car to come out so I can get one. I'll never hear the end of it if I can't get one for a year or more after it's released. LOL

My worries would be in the following order

1. Dealer gouging
2. Car MSRP
3. Different version of the car coming out after I made a purchase
4. Possible recalls

The gouging is always in the beginning when there are more buyers than cars.

There is one main factor will dictate whether or not I buy a Camaro the first year. If the LS3 is not in the car I'm not buying, because mark my words....it will make its way into the Camaro. Hopefully GM doesn't repeat history and turn it into the GTO all over again (LS1 then LS2).

LS2 the first year and LS3 the next. That is my biggest fear.

Damn I can't wait for this car to get here.

You can rest assure that the LS2 will not go in the Camaro. 2008 will most likely be the last time the LS2 goes into anything.

I thought they'd already stopped making LS2's? What MY2008 will they go into?

when is the 1st year of production? I really hope they come through.

as far as dealers gouging, is not going to happen, when the new design for the Mustang came out, they were available everywhere. This is not like the C6 Z06, a truly highly desirable automobile.

Dude, the GT's were getting 5-10k over msrp for the whole first year of production, at least they were in the Dallas area. They've gouged the GTO, C6 (still gouging on Z06's even though they're stacking up on dealer lots), Solstices, Skys, Shelbys are getting 10-20k markups at a minimum. You'll probably be able to get a V6 for sticker, but I think the V8's will be hard to come by for MSRP unless you have a stand up dealer nearby.

GM seems to always give the first year a bastard computer and/or lower HP.
