Would anyone here buy a GMT355 based, Bel Air (convertible or hardtop) or Nomad for $18-$20K?

I could see a HUGE aftermarket for performance parts.
Maybe with a turbo ecotech or HFV6 (god forbid a LSx). GM can keep their Atlas's...

I agree about the Atlas. But I'm not sure if the pricey HFV6 would be a good fit, cost wise.

But I'd take anything else. HV 3.9, LSx 4.8 or 5.3. Maybe unrealistic....but what the hell...how cool would a SC 3800 be in a $20,000 Nomad?

Gm learned a lot from the SC3800...why not put it to use in the new engines ?

I'd take a SC 3.9 Nomad.....no problem. A manual trans would make it a done deal.

3 sold so far...

And.......

-It could also be classified as a truck (like Dodge Magnum), and sold in a contractor's version (w/o sc, of course), as a suedo-replacement for the Astro van.

- A police package version also. Especially K9.

I would definitely consider it. However, whether I would actually buy it or not depends on the styling (which I hated about the 2002 concept), it would have to be longer, lower, and wider than the 2002 concept was. It also depends on the engines available (a V8 would have to be an option).

It'd be neat.

BUT....

Can't you see people putting lift kits on when they find out it's truck based?

If it were based on GMT355, I see it being more similar to the 1999 concept.

And since it's truck based .... we could start the AWD debate all over again.

Alright!!!

I could see it for an inexpensive vert...but what the hell is wrong with the Atlas? Sure, its heavy...but its powerful and durable as hell. My grandfather has over 85k on his '02 TB (first 77 put on by my dad as a company car), and not one slip up. I think its a great engine...

If, by GMT355, you mean we're relegated to the I5 instead of the I6, then I can understand that...I forgot if 355 meant TB or Colorado.

If its the I5, then yeah...screw it...
