i remember hearing something like that from him. Solstice and SSR were only concepts when they were shown (there's another thread going with some more details about this).

i think what Scott was hinting too was they weren't gonna show a concept they didn't already have a detailed plan laid out for with some of the ground work behind the scenes taken care of.

and like Guy said, this car seems to be alot farther along than any of us initially thought it was.

I sure as hell hope it means that the zeta era is about to begin in the next model year and a half.

the VE (Holden's Zeta) is scheduled to be out by the middle of this year. for the most part, it seems that the car's chassis will be a combination of Sigma II and VE.

I thougth Caddy was up in arms about making sure sigma II was theirs exclusively? I was under the impression that the CZ06 chasis was a combination of zeta and sigma I?

Werd, seems to me that the person that told me that the Camaro was already greenlighted was credible, as he also told me the head designer and other team members were preparing to leave for Australia shortly after the autoshow..

Sigma I is going away soon.

don't forget GM is developing a "global" RWD platform.

and Caddy has nothing to be up in arms about in regards to Chevy. what engine are they using in the CTS-V?????????
what platform is the XLR riding on?????????

if you ask me, i think Caddy owes Chevy a little favor

I agree, but doesn't mean that they wouldn't be miffed. I personally think it as stupid as the old Corvette rule. A camaro would have to have at least 50 more horsepower to be on an equal footing in a drag race with the Corvette, based solely on weight. And that number could go up, since we don't know what the projected weight of the new Camaro is.

you might be right on the drag race part, but ask Scott or Doug Harden how a 2002 SS (and don't even start ) handled on a track with a 2002 Z51 Vette. that Corvette rule blew away in the wind thanks to the SSR and Trailblazer SS.

the unspoken rule was "no other Chevrolet could have the same horsepower as a base Vette". that's not saying anything about other divisions (although the Vette guys aren't to keen about that).

well, the base Vette has a 400hp LS2, the TB SS has a 400hp LS2, and the SSR has a400hp LS2

For the record, wasn't John Heinrichy driving the Camaro? or am I mistaken on that?
