(NOT) Hennessey`s camaro went bad..

ADMIN EDIT, SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT! - THIS IS NOT A HENNESSEY CAR - SEE POST #21!

hi, a friend just posted this pics in our camaro-transam forum and I think you may want to see.

this car is in Hermosillo, Mexico, the problem was an exploding clutch

owner called Hennesey and they said will send parts but he still has to pay for some one to install them and repair the damaged engine block.. so 65k camaro will go up a little more

lucky that flying parts didn`t cut his leg or something

pics are too big so I`ll post links..

Is there more to this story? I see a severe over-rev, clutch dump start....failure.....not sure, yet, how Hennessy (even though he's a crook) is to blame.....unless there's a rational explanation.

I'll agree. When I first saw this thread, I was at work and the pictures were blocked. Seeing it now, I can't automatically pin the blame on Hennessey's work. I still don't understand people sending him their business given all the bad press on the guy, though. I sure as hell wouldn't send my car and hard-earned money to the guy.

Any more to the story as to how this happened? Was it on launch or just driving along? Kinda wondering! Sucks that it happened nonetheless!

Was that a spec clutch? Not much good to say about them lately.

the guy fixing it said it was a bad install, that they didn`t tight it well, but I don`t know exactly what they left loose.

I`ll check..

i dont see this being Hennesseys fault. whats the story on how this blew up? was it the stock clutch? that 700hp package is what, a magnacharger and cam package? if the clutch was not replaced then shame on the owner and hennessey. but if hennesey offers aftermarket clutches and it was purchased by the owner, then shame on him. but i dont see and thing here that shows bad work on hennesseys end.

Well, with the internet one never knows what to believe or who has some part in a bad situation.

I recommend serious research when handing anyone hard earned money for juicing up your ride.

When you get into big HP, EVERYTHING has to be first rate. . . especially the install.

In the pro racing world, drivers that destroy equipment don't get sustained seat time.

OK, the owner of the car said he was driving at the street, no hard launch at strip.

Sc at 7psi

checked at hennessey web and the have this...

Additional Options Include:
KW Coilover Suspension (Variant 1 or 3)
Additional Wheel / Tire Size Combonations
Short Throw Shifter & HPE Shift **** (manual cars)
Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers
Torque Converter or Clutch Upgrade
at the pics, I can see the LTs, and by the blue color, the clutch may be a spec

the package in this car was about $40K
