Wishing they would hurry up and get on it! I'm anxiously awaiting the power bump and mpg increase with DI although I really want to see it in the LSA in the hopefully soon Z28. If GM drops the ball then I guess Dodge gets my money.

Remember, the Corvette would have to get DI in its LS3 first before the Camaro would get it. Since the C7 is supposed to be out, or at least heavily rumored, next summer (2012) as a '13 model, it is highly unlikely they would add DI in the final year of the C6. I would make a guess that you will see DI in the C7 and it would make its way into the Camaro the same year or the year after the first year of the C7.

Actually - it's won't be just the V6 Camaro gets a boost in power. But also the SS model

The V6 will be about 330 hp, the V8 will be about 440 hp. And the Top Dog - will be the Z/28 with a version of Supercharged 6.2L found in the CTS-V(556hp).

It is obviously just pure speculation on my part, but I find it very hard that GM would want to **** off any Corvette owners or potentional Corvette owners. The only way I would think that the Camaro would get a newer type of technolgy first over the Vette like DI would be as long as the Vette still holds the lead as far as HP #'s go. My guess would be the new C7 gets the newer V8 small block with DI and VVT and then the Camaro gets it the same year or possibly the year after.

That sounds pretty good to me if that happens. I would guess that the SS gets a nice increase along with an increase for the C6 as well, probably a few more ponies than the SS. It would be perfect for potential buyers of a '12 C6, since that is supposed to be the last year before the C7 debuts. The last thing GM needs is a bunch of '12 C6s sitting around the lot because people are waiting for the C7...makes sense to me, but it is only a guess on my part!

Well with the next generation of Corvette due out in Summer 2012 (as a 2013 model) - I doubt that the Camaro will continue to step on the Corvette's shoes(so to speak).

The C7 is rumored to be lighter than the current Corvette with more power, and better fuel economy.

The reason why - the Camaro seems to be steal some of the Corvette sales, right now is a two fold answer. 1st the Camaro is the newer car - therefore there's more interest in it - now. 2nd is related to the current state of the economy - the Camaro SS - is about 10-15 K cheaper than a base C6, and it has 4 sets.
