Arrow NEWS: The 2016 Camaro Will Be At Least 200 Pounds Lighter Than The Old One

The outgoing Chevrolet Camaro is good at a lot of things, like burnouts and sending people to jail for speeding and keeping up with Porsches on the race track . One thing it isn't is light — your average Camaro SS comes in around 3,900 pounds. Fortunately, the 2016 Camaro stands to lose "more than 200 pounds" on its new platform.

That's pretty good. I'm hoping the "at least" 200 lbs. represents the worst case scenario. I guess the worst case scenario would be the convertible.

It would be nice if the typical non-convertible versions received 220 - 250 lbs. of weight reduction.

I'm not sure I would call it idiotic. I would characterize the interior as more "generic" relative to the rest of the car. It really makes the interior stand out. In a very bad way.

But, I think we can all agree the interior does need to be updated and badly.

Refer to two posts I've left recently where one discuss more 6 gen spy shots at Pigeon Forge, TN and the other posts mentions the rumor the 6 gen interior is Corvette grade quality.

It does appear the interior is updated. Let's cross our fingers and hope it's for the better.
