I agree, the Solstice was started from scratch months after it was originally shown. We know from the CAD designs alone that the Camaro is farther along, but I still say 2 years untill it hits the street.

My guess is after the UAW "Contract Talks" in 2007, seeing how funding might be a BIG issue this time around.
Though I'd LOVE to have a 40th Anniversary model, now that would make an impact!..
Probably an '08 model, but if there isn't enough favorable feed back, it may go back to the drawing board for revisions, ending up as an '09..
That'd be my guess...
(..as it seems most of the R&D is done, just choosing teams, laying rules and getting ready to play. )

I'm hoping it'll be out as soon as possible, but I'm not putting any money down. After all, this Chevy coupe is still a concept and something could happen somewhere down the line. The other day, I took a stroll down to the local Chevrolet dealership and asked how much of a deposit I could put on a brand new 2009 Camaro. They looked at me as if I was an idiot and asked me if I knew the thing was cancelled in 2002 and would never be back again. Then they didn't hesitate to try to sell me a Cobalt.

I'm hoping for within the next year or two, but I'm not putting money down, because we don't know what will happen between now and 2009.

An '07 calendar year would be good for Chevy but I dont think they can pull it together.

I'd first like to see GM get the green light for this project and then we can start talking about intro dates. While we have all seen the pics and know the concept is comming to the show technically we are still pre-concept even. So when GM states they are going to built a Camaro and have a plant to do so I would kick around dates until then its all quite a bit of speculation. Not to rain on anyones parade but lets take this as it comes to us.

I'd also agree, that the car is probably much further along than any of us think. I would love to see an 07 car, but I'm not sure its that far along yet. Its anyones guess really. We shall see. I don't think it will be 09. I am surprised the leaked photos took so long actually. I figured they would have been out much sooner. IMO GM did a stellar job keeping it under wraps. It seems the C6 pics got out way before the debut date, though I could be wrong on that, not sure!

I say late '07 or early '08. I hope it's earlier, but we'll see.

FYI, production start for Challenger (at Brampton Assembly in Ontario) is rumored to be late March of '07, in dealers by May as an 08 model, so it might not be too much earlier...
