The use of the LS7 for a special version of the camaro seems like a real possibility to me. I have recently heard rumours that there will soon be a new vette with better performance than the z06. Rumour has it that it will use a suppercharged version of a smaller engine that the ls7 and pump out 600hp.
Expect the price to be $100,000. For now people are calling it the "Corvette SS" But I don't know if the name will stick. Either way, it means we can get a 500hp Camaro without the vette fanboys getting P.O.'ed about another gm being faster than the vette.
Good news all around if it's true

Anyhoo, anybody wanna bet that the Camaro SS tops 450hp by 2010?

Sh*t I'd take a 427 LS7 GTO "The Judge" while waiting for the Camaro or SuperCamaro! How bout a COPO Camaro too? No luxuries, just all motor!

I think an LS7 would be fine, and I would be overjoyed in getting one in a 5th gen. I am still wondering what GM plans on using in the 5th gen to compete with the GT500 and the SRT8.

I would prefer the LS7 as well, simply from a weight standpoint. Z284ever brought up the point a few months back that if we got a derivitave of the LS9 in the Camaro, we will most likely get an iron block to go along with that. That is almost 100 extra pounds right on the nose of the car, where the weight doesn't need to be, and that is not even considering what other weight the blower/intercooler will add.

I seriously doubt we will be seeing anything like the ZL1
I know what I said above…..
But to be honest I would be floored, absolutely shocked to see GM announce a super Camaro during this time period.
