Has Chevy built & delivered all of the pre orders yet?

Has Chevy built & delivered all of the pre orders yet? Just curious. A dealer close to my house had 6 SS's last week (only 2 today) & I was wondering if they were fulfilling orders or if they were for sale to the car buying public.

If it was a preorder then something is wrong. He should have it by now. The car I'm getting was ordered on 5/21 and went to 3400 broadcast on 08/08. That means I should have it very soon.

If it was ordered from a dealership that didnt have the allocation then the orders could still be out there. Small dealerships that took 10 orders and are only scheduled to get 8 cars cause a problem.

No They Haven't! I ordered Feb and am still waiting. I was told that they were going to make & take starting in August, so why are they still going with the allocation process that sucks ***?

You must have ordered from a small dealership. My dealer has all his preorders in. He is now getting dealer stock and current orders in. In all he ordered over 200 Camaros and has already delivered more than 30.

Did he order from a small dealership? You have to order from someone with enough allocation to take your order, or you might wait excessively long. It's a crappy system IMO, but there are many reasons why it works the way it does, including federal regulations.

Also, did he order any delayed options (like Summit White paint or the short-throw shifter)?

I ordered in the beginning of january and I don't have mine yet. I got red jewel paint, which I believe caused a delay, and I got a v8 M6, which were put on hold for almost a month while they fixed the tranny output shaft problem. Mine has been built, I have the VIN, and I'm waiting for it to arrive at the dealer. It should get there in the next week.

Why? I ordered in October (#1 at my dealership although I was the 4th Camaro to be delivered there because of my options) and didn't get my car until June. That's 8 months. It's not all that surprising that they haven't completed all preorders yet. I would expect them to by the end of September though.

Again, a lot of this delay falls on the consumer. You need to be aware of your dealers allocation before you place a preorder.
