Factory Performance parts

GM seems to be jumping into the factory performance scene pretty well. They have the various supercharger upgrade kits for the Cobalt, I'm sure they'll have some club racer things for the Solstice soon (when the turbo GXP version debuts).

What will we see for the Camaro?

Definitely, its the perfect solution for those who want to start modding their cars and are caught in the confines of their factory warranties still.

Re: Factory Performance parts

not to mention possibility of having that cost factored into the financing of a vehicle. that helps folks's wallets too.

Memories, ... let's see Bilstein Suspension, KD's, catback, and chrome rims at 0%, uh ya I'll take those.

Re: Factory Performance parts

Yeah I really hope GM gets behind the 5th gen this way.

I want to mod my car with a few go fast goodies but I dont want to lose a warrenty on a brand new $30k purchase.

This will be the route I will go to get a few more tenths out of my car, even if it cost a bit more.

Re: Factory Performance parts

If GM offered headers that could be tacked into the financing, there isnt a chance I wouldnt get them. Id really like to see GM get behind this car the way import companies like scion do....except, in a slightly 'different' manner

Re: Factory Performance parts

I'd like to see headers and an intake offered. I realize that cam and heads would be too much to expect to be covered by a warranty.

I wouldn't. I'd rather see them engineer a super free flowing exhaust system that met all emission standards; one which would make headers or any exhaust mods unnecessary.

Headers aren't always the answer.

While I understand completely what you are saying, I respectfully disagree. Part of the fun of these cars, as opposed to say a super-car, is, IMO, the ability to modify them to suit your needs, tastes and desires. If your car came with little to no room for improvement from the factory, not only would it dramatically increase the price, but it would devastate the after-market industry. On a purely personal basis, I believe it would remove some of the charm, as well as the some of the "soul" of the car. Modifying, however slightly, a "muscle car" is one of the things that really , again IMO, helps set these cars apart from other transportation choices.

Besides, who doesn't love bloody knuckles?
